FAQ

Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

When does life begin?

We know for a fact that life begins at conception. This is validated both scientifically and Scripturally.

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”
Psalm 139:13-16 NKJV
Do abortions cause physical harm to women?

Yes. Increased risk for future pregnancies for placenta previa, as well as increased risk for breast cancer, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, and liver cancer. Other physical complications include, but are not limited to: uterine perforations, cervical lacerations, and even death! The leading causes of abortion-related deaths within a week of the surgery are: hemorrhage, and infection.

If I have had an abortion, can I be forgiven?

The Bible tells us clearly…

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
Is abortion okay in the case of an unborn baby that is diagnosed as deformed or handicapped?

The child’s deformity is often misdiagnosed, or the deformity is minor. Many couples, with an unborn child diagnosed as handicapped, choose to give birth and deliver healthy babies. Handicapped children are not social liabilities, and healthy “normal” people are not always social assets. Every life is precious.

Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord?
Exodus 4:11
How does God feel about abortion in the case of rape or incest?

If we tell a woman that abortion is the solution in the case of rape, we are inciting this woman, who has been victimized, to become an aggressor against her own child, further adding to her trauma. In the case of incest, we are only guaranteeing further abuse in her life. The aggressor’s secret is intact, allowing his abuse of her to continue.

The one who sins is the one who dies. The child will not be punished for the parent’s sins…
Ezekiel 18:20
Is God concerned about the unborn? How does God feel about life?

God, our Creator, knew us by our name before we were even born.

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous — and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Psalm 139:13-16
How are men affected by abortion?

Abortion goes against the very heart of God’s design for men. God created men to protect and provide for their children and families. Men are also responsible for an unborn child they’ve fathered and should have a part in the decision. The father of a unborn child lost to abortion will often face serious grief and guilt as a result. Learn more HERE.

What is abortion recovery?

Before we can truly understand abortion recovery, we must first understand from what we are recovering.

The definition of Post Abortion Syndrome is defined as an ongoing inability to: (a) process the painful thoughts and emotions resulting from abortion – especially guilt, anger and grief, (b) identify (much less grieve) the loss that has been experienced, and (c) come to peace with God, themselves, and others involved in the pregnancy and abortion decision.

Why do I need an Abortion Recovery Bible Study?
  • To learn the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, of His healing and restoration.

  • To grieve for your aborted child in a safe, secure place with others that have gone through abortion.
  • To know the freedom that can only come through Jesus Christ.
“To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”
Isaiah 61:3
Isn't abortion just terminating a pregnancy, not killing a child?

Like any other word used for a child, such as ‘toddler’ or ‘adolescent,’ the terms ’embryo’ and ‘fetus’ simply refer to a human child at a particular stage of development. From 18-24 days after conception the baby’s heart starts beating. Every abortion stops a beating heart and destroys measurable brain waves. Terminating a pregnancy is terminating a life.

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.”
Jeremiah 1:5
Isn't it my right to choose? After all abortion is legal.
What is legal doesn’t always mean it’s right. Every woman has a right to choose (except in the case of rape), and the choice should be made before a child is conceived. The comparison between a baby’s right and a mother’s rights is unequal. What is at stake in abortion is the mother’s lifestyle, as opposed to the baby’s life.
